Serving God’s World

Serving God’s World

As “a community living to make Jesus known,” we’re not just about discovering God’s incredible love for ourselves. We also want to share that love in both words and actions.

Broadway people are involved in a wide range of mission projects – too many to mention here. The groups listed below are those which are our partner missions. They have either been set up by people from our church, or have a sense of being important to the whole church, rather than just individuals within it. We are committed to financial, practical and prayerful support of our partner missions.

Eco Church

www.ecochurch.arocha.org.uk At Broadway we recognise the importance of caring for God’s creation as part of our worship and mission. To help us do this, we use the Eco Church scheme run by A Rocha. An Eco Church group meet regularly to consider how we can express car for God’s world across four areas: in our worship and teaching; in how we look after our buildings; in how we engage with our local community and in global campaigns; and in the…

Fairtrade

As an Eco Church we do our best to be kind to our world, whether that is our immediate surroundings or further afield. As such, all our tea, coffee and sugar is Fairtrade. We also use recycled paper where possible (and only print if needed!), and all our toilets are toilet-twinned (if you don’t know what that is, take a look at the Toilet Twinning website)

Friends and heroes

Friends and Heroes is run by Broadway members, David and Alison Dorricott. Friends and Heroes is a combined drawn and computer generated animated TV series comprising 39 episodes in three series of 13 x 26 minutes for 6 -10 year olds. Friends and Heroes is the epic animated tale of two young people in the first century – Macky and Portia – whose idealism and friendship leads them across the ancient world, from the fabled Egyptian port of Alexandria, to the besieged city…

Hands of Hope

www.handsofhope.org.im Hands of Hope seek to help the poor, needy and homeless in the Dorohoi area of Botosani Country, Romania, demonstrating God’s love by working in the community, building homes, distributing aid and befriending families.  Romania is a country undergoing huge change and where they work, in the North East of Romania, there are low wages, high unemployment and rising living costs.
